Gelatos and Wood Veneer Tutorial

HI there!

Laura here today sharing a quick tip using wood veneer shapes and Gelatos.   For those of you that have not had a chance to play with Gelatos yet, you really should!  They are almost like a waxy oil pastel, but they are water based.  There are so many fun ways to use them and different things that you can do with them.  You can use them on their own, apply them with your fingers, use a paint brush and water or a water brush - to mention a few.  They are great for adding mixed media looks to your backgrounds and colour to neutral / naked embellishments.

For today's post I want to show you how Gelatos look on wood veneer.

I left one of the wood pieces natural and the second one I painted with Gesso.

After the Gesso dried, I added the blue Gelato with my fingers, rubbing it in to the wood.  You can see that without the Gesso the Gelatos has a translucent look, and it is more opaque with the Gesso.  Whatever your taste or preference, it is a fun way to customize the colour of neutral elements for your project!

You can inquire by email to order your Gelatos today.

Thank you for visiting today!
